I don't surf malibu because it is just too crowded and it is mainly a summer only break as it needs a good south swell to break. I surf usually an hours drive south in Huntington Beach by the border of Newport Beach at the rivermouth. But this photo is not an uncommon sight as we have a local pod of dolphins who patrol up and down the coast off Huntington and they frequently come in for a surf. I once got knocked off my board as I was dropping into a wave back in "75" or "76" as I bumped a dolphin just enough to temporarily stop the momentum of my board but not me. My friends out in the water got a good long laugh.
